“I admire the models, because it’s a form of acceptance of your body. It’s not shying away from anything. Every model we’ve had is completely different from one another, and you’re showing that to people as the model. Sitting on the other side of that is reaffirming that we’re all different, and helps you to accept yourself.” - Lottie Russell (Eve Sketch) 2024

After collaborating with a professional model in the development stage of this project, I decided to use myself for my final animation. As the artist, I see the confidence brought to the model, and find comfort in analysing different bodies without judgement. But doing it myself and drawing a self portrait was liberating, and made the project much more personal to me. It gave me the chance to experience both observing and being observed in different contexts.

Exhibition with Blood Orange Zine.
Frames of my animation were displayed in their fourth issue, themed on 'Body'. They were also exhibited at their launch event.
